NON-Review by Ancient Ceremonies (International) #10
(a free Compilation CD with "The Mountain Spirit" was included to the Mag)

Metal fans who follow the underground scene and buy Demos knows that most of the tirnos bands lack any care about the visual irnpact that a release should have and put out the demos in unprofessional ways... gladly there are a few that clearly transcends the path of the rule and Slaine belong to 'that category! How many bands do you know that release their demos in Digipackformat? Not many I can guarantee!

However since things aren't always perfect "NON" on the other hand could have had a production at the high level that they have set, 'cause in the end it sounds a muddy, just like a good produced demo tape. Still, Slaine with their mid tempo Death/Thrash sonority produces enjoyable moments which could only had been better with the already mentioned better production (heavier but clear). But lets not longer forget, that this is just a demo with the extra points of being released as a Digipack.

This is the second effort from this 5 piece Swiss band that already gained same recognition on their homeland and now are trying to expand them abroad. "NON" is a demo that without lacking the needed aggression for a band of this style combines it with an edge of melody. This Schweizer's vocals have the guttural still clear edge that Slaine needed for the kind of sound that they are playing. All in all a band that clearly is looking for a record deal and if they don't find it now I believe that with a better production on the next release they will surely sign a record deal.
