Non is a demo CD with 5 songs from a Swiss band, but it is very professional and has nothing to do with normal demos. The digi pack, the design, and of course the music and the production are closer to a release from a label than a demo CD. The guys are playing death metal but not very brutal. They have influences from thrash metal, especially bay area bands and their music is more groovy than technical. I liked the not so brutal vocals and I especially liked the rhythm section of the band, which combined with the heavy riffing create a really groovy and headbanging atmosphere.
What I would like from the guys is to make their sound more clear and more focused. Some more intensity as well, but maybe this has nothing to do with the songs but with the production. A heavier but clear production would greatly help their sound. I believe that the basics are there. Talent, musicianship and the ability to express themselves through their instruments and write good songs. They are a band worth listening and you can find their CD and more info at www.slaine.ch.
